Small Riot in Arizona as Immigration Law Enacted

23 Apr

Link to video over at Noonan for Nevada.

Here we see some violence. Real violence. Real violence done for political purposes. And it isn’t conservatives – these are the oh, so well meaning and loving liberals on a rampage.

And why are they on a violent rampage? Because they lost fair and square in the political process.

When we on the right lose we take our lumps and start working towards the future. We were wiped out in November of 2008 and now, thanks to hard work, we’re heading back up – hopefully to score some major victories in November. But if it comes out different – if we lose – then we’ll just, once again, take our lumps and start over again.

Not so for liberals – when they don’t get their way, they go nuts…and then have the nerve to claim that we conservatives are the threat.

Had enough? Have you had enough of this nonsense?

I have – and I bet the American majority has too.

UPDATE: Some good coverage of the incident from local media.

UPDATE II: President Obama arrogantly chides Arizonans for enacting immigration law. Honestly, just who does this guy think he is? Obama, you’re President, not Emperor!

Obama and the Blago Scandal

23 Apr

The news:

Right after Blago was arrested, Obama claimed he never talked to Blago about the Senate seat. After all, Obama claims he’s had little contact with Blago. NBC Chicago catches Obama in a whopping lie. Some redacted portions of an Obama subpoena request have been unearthed:

Obama had a secret phone call with Blagojevich

Redacted portion: President-elect Obama also spoke to Governor Blagojevich on December 1, 2008 in Philadelphia. On Harris Cell Phone Call # 139, John Harris and Governor’s legal counsel discuss a conversation Blagojevich had with President-elect Obama. The government claims a conspiracy existed from October 22, 2008 continuing through December 9, 2008.6 That conversation is relevant to the defense of the government’s theory of an ongoing conspiracy. Only Rod Blagojevich and President Obama can testify to the contents of that conversation. The defense is allowed to present evidence that corroborates the defendant’s testimony.

To the authors and readers of Caucus of Corruption, this is not at all surprising. While we hadn’t joined these two directly in the book, the clear levels of corruption surrounding both men – and both arisen out of the sewer which is Chicago politics – made it almost a certainty that they’re scandals would meet at some point.

I can’t say that Obama, directly, is a crook – but he was surrounded by them in Chicago and benefited from his connections to the crooks, both personally and politically (his rise to office using dirty means to exclude opponents from the ballot; his swell home courtesy of a crooked real estate deal, eg). And plenty of the Chicago people have followed him to DC.

In the end, this won’t be pretty – we elevated to the White House a man from arguably the most corrupt city in America. The muck has been hidden by the Obama glow, but as that fades, the muck will come to the fore.

UPDATE: Blago is calling in Obama to undercut Rezko…and if Obama doesn’t play ball, then maybe Blago can make life difficult?

Out and About on a Friday Morning

23 Apr

In a cruel political trick, a man is outed…for being straight.

Is our children learning? Environmental lies passed off as education.

Goldman Sachs boss visited Obama White House four times. If this were 2007, our liberals would be upset about this.

15,000 government union moochers demand that strapped, out-of-work taxpayers pony up even more. I’m sure this will help Democrats in November.

Missed this from last week: Seems that the stock market boom is a giant on spindly legs. I trust the DOW about as much as, say, I trust the Federal Reserve. Picked it wrong for March, but I don’t think I’m more than a couple months off in my prediction.

Getting impatient for repeal of DADT. Given that such a repeal would probably involve minimal additional political risk, one does have to ask: why haven’t the Democrats moved on this? I mean, they’ve shoved through massively unpopular health care and are set to press ahead with even more unpopular Cap and Trade and Comprehensive Immigration Reform – so, why not repeal DADT? For most conservatives, not such a big issue, plus or minus…but those homosexual groups who have been slavishly devoted to the Democrat party should be asking why this issue, so important in the gay rights community, is so back burner?

You Tube pulls the endless Hitler parodies. On free speech grounds, I object – on grounds of getting tired of the endless parade of parodies, I un-object.

We’re all worthless and weak. Good article, must read – but the author does take a dig at our commentariat. Time to spruce up, boys and girls, the neighbors are listening!

Ending Racist and Sexist Abortions

23 Apr

A big step in the right direction:

The legislation in Georgia that would ban abortions done specifically because the child is African-American or a girl jumped through its latest hurdle. The Georgia House Judiciary Committee voted 10-8 on Wednesday to vote SB 529 out of committee and send it to the Rules Committee.

The rules panel will consider the bill before it heads to the full state House floor and a vote in the committee could come as early as Tuesday.

Always good to keep in mind that abortion and birth control were first advanced by eugenicists who felt that blacks and other “inferiors” shouldn’t breed. Had to get the lesser breeds out of the blood stream, as it were, in order for the strong, white people to have a clear path towards creating a Brave, New World…and other such utter sh**.

Abortion is the badge of our age – a badge of shame as much as slavery was in an earlier time. In both cases, the inherent dignity of humanity is denied and people are treated as disposable.

There will come a time when people will wonder how anyone could abort a child, much as we wonder how anyone could assert the right to hold a human being in bondage.

Duhhh! Economic Forecasters Say Obamacare Will Increase Costs

22 Apr

Yeah, smart people have been saying this for over a year.

President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul law will increase the nation’s health care tab instead of bringing costs down, government economic forecasters concluded Thursday in a sobering assessment of the sweeping legislation.

A report by economic experts at the Health and Human Services Department said the health care remake will achieve Obama’s aim of expanding health insurance — adding 34 million Americans to the coverage rolls.

But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president’s twin goal of controlling runaway costs, raising projected spending by about 1 percent over 10 years. That increase could get bigger, however, since the report also warned that Medicare cuts in the law may be unrealistic and unsustainable, forcing lawmakers to roll them back.

The mixed verdict for Obama’s signature issue is the first comprehensive look by neutral experts.

In particular, the warnings about Medicare could become a major political liability for Democratic lawmakers in the midterm elections. The report projected that Medicare cuts could drive about 15 percent of hospitals and other institutional providers into the red, “possibly jeopardizing access” to care for seniors.

Repeal! Repeal! Repeal!

Environmentalism? That's For the Peasants…

22 Apr

…not for the ruling class:

On a day when many Americans will be reflecting upon how they can reduce their impact on the environment, President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden will board separate jets in Washington on Earth Day morning to fly 250 miles up the east coast to New York, where they will land at separate airports to attend separate events within a few miles of each other.

The parallel visits of Air Force One (a 747/VC-25 aircraft) and Air Force Two (a 757/C-32A aircraft) will delay dozens, if not hundreds of commercial flights at Kennedy and LaGuardia and other nearby airports as no-fly zones are implemented. Jets will be forced to circle and burn more fuel as they wait for the VIPs to come and go. Their security contingents consisting of dozens of cars, SUVs and helicopters will burn even more. Throw in thousands of commuters’ cars and delivery trucks sitting idle in traffic as law enforcement closes large swaths of the city and you have yourself a very Earth-unfriendly day.

The whole purpose of environmentalism is to make the world safe for the rich and powerful. What is wanted is a world where only the elite travel in cars and jets. Where natures wonders are carefully fenced off, with only the privileged allowed a close look. Where the wealthy can afford the extra charge of lavish energy use while you and I, dear citizen, huddle in the dark and hope that spring comes before our winter heating allowance runs out.

These trips by Obama and Biden just illustrate my point.

We need a world built for the average man and woman. A world for us to use, not to be locked away as a plaything for the rich and connected.

Comedy Central Cowards

22 Apr

Here is the NY Times story – bottom line, the producers of South Park, true to form, went out of their way to insult sacred beliefs. They do this to Christianity on a regular basis – now it is Islam facing the insults.

Naturally, Moslems issue warnings about death to come – and while the producers of South Park seemed willing to show some guts and run the show, the network censored it in a bid to make it less insulting to Moslems.

I’d better not see even the slightest insult to Christianity from this point forward on Comedy Central – the rule has been made: insults to religion are not allowed. Got it?

Sick of these liberal cowards in entertainment slandering my religion with wild abandon and then crawling on their knees to Islam when it gets upset.

The Case Against Comprehensive Immigration Reform

22 Apr

Excellently stated by Victor Davis Hanson:

…With unemployment near 10 percent, with unprecedented violence pouring over the border, and with a divisive health-care debate not yet healed, why go down that road? Most of the arguments of the last century are now dated: Already we are seeing more Californians mowing their own lawns, and students as never before willing to take most jobs that come up. (Unemployment is near 20 percent in the interior of California and most are not picky about the few jobs out there.)

The public is starting to correlate the massive amount of remittances sent back to Latin American (perhaps well over $40 billion) with commensurate rising public subsidies to illegal aliens, funded by the now-strapped taxpayer.

And Mexico has become far more violent than Iraq, suggesting to most that the border should be less, not more, porous…

All of which is not only true, but easily seen by anyone with sense, at all. And yet, here come the Democrats pledging to press for comprehensive immigration reform this year, which already looks rocky enough for them. Why?

1. The leaders of liberal hispanic groups have demanded it. This is the price for their continued loyalty: immigration reform which works out to de-facto amnesty.

2. Visions of electoral majorities as far as the eye can see. Democrats are hoping that hispanics will vote overwhelmingly Democrat for generations to come, thus ensuring strong Democrat power.

3. Democrat leaders just have not registered the change in the political landscape.

That last bit might prove most important – because if the Democrat leaders do not very swiftly understand that they’ve blown their 2008 mandate, then what is shaping up to be a bad year for Democrats will turn catastrophic. If it goes that way, then there will be no loyalty to buy from hispanic voters as Democrats will be finished as a majority party for a generation.

It’ll just take a bit more to turn 2010 in to a blowout for the GOP – I’m already seeing even very far down ballot Republicans catching fire with the electorate. One more push, and 2010 will make 1994 look like nothing. Immigration reform would be just that push – the only way to make it better for the GOP is if someone high up in the Democrat party were to call for gun control.

Now we’ll also get to see just how stupid Democrats can be.

Are Californians Stupid?

22 Apr

I can’t believe that former Governor Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown is actually ahead in the in the polls:

Following last weekend’s Democratic Convention in California, the party’s newly nominated gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown has gained little ground, but support for his top Republican opponent, former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, has fallen off slightly.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds Brown earning 44% support to 38% for Whitman. Nine percent (9%) prefer some other candidate, and another nine percent (9%) are undecided.

I realize that this isn’t “in the bag” numbers for Brown and further realize that California is a pretty liberal State and thus any Democrat will poll well there…but, Brown? The complete dimwit of a governor from1975 to 1983? All this clown has ever done is run for and hold public office and Californians might turn to him as the man to fix the problems caused by California’s career politicians?

Stupid really is as stupid does – now we’ll get to see if California has an ounce of sense left in it.

Get Ready to Donate to Marco Rubio

22 Apr

Because word is that Charlie Crist is heading for the door:

It may be the worst-kept secret in American politics today, and it’s apparently about to become a reality. Reliable sources informed me today that embattled Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, whose early lead in his US Senate Republican primary race against former Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio has essentially reversed itself in the polls, is preparing to announce sooner rather than later that he will leave the GOP and continue his run for Senate as an independent. Sources add that the speech Crist will use in his announcement is now being drafted…

Governor Crist – don’t do it. You’ll betray people who have worked hard for you and you’ll still lose – the “best” you can accomplish is to hand the seat to the Democrat. If you’ve an ounce of conservative sense in your body, you’ll know that this is a wrong move.

I’m terribly sorry that you lost – but, you also had your chance. Turns out that 2010 is the Year of the Outsider and you missed the bus on it. You could have done what Rubio did, but you read tea TEA leaves wrong and went with the incorrect program. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try again, later – and as a Republican.

Go Independent and you’ll just become an untrustworthy loser.
