Reid Named in Fraud Case

12 Jan

From the Salt Lake Tribune:

Embattled St. George businessman Jeremy Johnson says new Utah Attorney General John Swallow helped broker a deal in 2010 in which Johnson believed he was to pay Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid $600,000 to make a federal investigation into Johnson’s company go away…

A Reid spokeswoman had no comment.  There is, at this point, no indication that any of the alleged bribe money actually made its way to Reid.  We’ll have to see how this comes out.  But, if you want to get some background on Reid – and the curious questions surrounding just how he got so rich – then I suggest The Audacity of Harry Reid.  Harry Reid is not just a hack politician.  Harry Reid is not just someone who is handing the legislative power over to President Obama.  Harry Reid is much more than all that – and all of it bad.

Harry Reid is easily my most despised politicians of all time, and very well might be the nations most despised as well. He is incompetent to the core, harmfully partisan, and corruption is just natural by product, so I really hope something like this sticks. I know Harry has some very questionable real estate deals in his past as well, all the while caring so much for this country. What a loser.

And Dems will vote for him anyway. Like Obama, we could have video of him tossing puppies into a wood chipper and it would not faze the faithful.

And Harry doesn’t even have a scintilla of charisma to explain it.

      Cluster,

Reid’s bridge over in Laughlin is the most interesting – it is detailed in the e book but the bottom line appears to be that taxpayer money is to be used to build a bridge which will vastly increase the value of Reid’s land across the Colorado River in Arizona…and that land is another strange story in that Reid appears to have paid a pittance for land which may wind up worth millions.

If you ever get a chance to travel through Nevada, take US 95 south from Boulder City…and out there in the middle of fricking nowhere, it becomes a beautifully constructed, divided highway…until just a bit past Harry Reid’s house in Searchlight. Wonder why money was appropriated to build that highway?

Has anyone else here noticed that the libs who frequent this blog rarely, if ever, criticize one of their own. Often they don’t come to their defense either, but just don’t show up. I think that’s one of the biggest differences I see between conservatives and liberals. It’s one of the things that drew me to this blog — that the conservatives weren’t afraid to criticize their own when they deserved it.

They circle the wagons JR and that is one reason why they (liberals) are so good with their messaging. They, and that includes the media, simply ignore scandal no matter how egregious it is. The ends justify the means in their small minds.

Keeping in line with Democrats outside of the law:

“Late Friday evening, Deputy Director Zients confirmed that for the fourth time in five years, the president’s budget will not be submitted in compliance with the law,” the aide said.

Just another day of our current surreal liberal reality

      Cluster,

Even their pals in the MSM aren’t afraid to say it like it is.

In such a debt crisis, the president would have to decide what laws he wants to break. Does he breach the borrowing limit without a congressional OK? Does he ignore spending commitments required by law?

We don’t need no steeeeenkin’ rule of law — we’re DEMOCRATS.

Hey as long as there is a crisis, laws will have to take a back seat. I have a feeling there will be a lot of crisis’s over the next four years.

From an article on Obama’s recent speech: (emphasis mine)

“But while everyone was picking apart these and other flaws in Obama’s speech, they overlooked the most frightening line of all. That was when Obama promised that he’d pursue “the kind of bold, persistent experimentation that Franklin Roosevelt pursued during the only crisis worse than this one.”

What a blatant admission to an agenda to “fundamentally transform” the United States, following in the footsteps of the man who dragged the country from a recession into the worst depression we have ever known and disregarded the Constitution when it got in his way. He tells us what he is going to do, but the swooning sheeple just vote for him anyway.
