Dystopia–In His Own Words.

Just prior to the 2008 elections, Barack Obama boldly stated,

“We are 5 days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America” (October 30, 2008)

Many among my conservative friends took that to be so much fluff; pretty much liberal boilerplate consistent with his whole “Hope and Change” campaign message.  Given, however, Obama’s background, cutting his teeth with the radical leftists/communists of his day (i.e., Frank Marshall Davis, Bernadine Dorn, Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright) I believe I was one of the relative few that took him at his word.  Unlike most of America, conservatives such as myself and others who actually took the time to vet Obama, knew that background and worldview mattered, and that Obama’s past gave more than a glimpse of how he intended to govern in the present.

When Obama uttered those words, “.. fundamentally transform AmericaI knew he meant it. It was Obama himself who stated (emphases added),

“As radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren Court, it wasn’t that radical.  It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least, as it’s been interpreted and Warren Court interpreted in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative libertiesSays what the States can’t do to you; says what the Federal Government can’t do to you, but doesn’t state what the Federal government or State Government must do on your behalf.”  (Barack Obama, June 18, 2001).

There is no question that Barack Obama was unhappy with his perception of unequal distribution of wealth that America so unfairly championed, and that he wanted to transform this nation into something more ‘equitable’ in his eyes.  The question was how, and to what extent.  Just how does one “fundamentally”  transform a nation whose very basis for existence is freedom, itself?  The only feasible answer is to transform that already-free nation, into a nation with fewer freedoms.  Given Dinesh D’Souza’s brilliant insights as to Obama’s worldview engendered by his past, one knew that Obama’s absolute contempt for what he saw as America’s unequal distribution of wealth would result in his promoting policies that would necessarily stifle economic growth.   Obama’s America would no longer be one of unbridled economic opportunity; rather, America would be a nation of egalitarian outcomes, regardless of effort; to coin a phrase, to each, according to his needs; from each, according to his means.  

As a means of bringing about this transformation, America could no longer be a free nation.  No where as free, at least, as it was at the time of he assumed his presidency.  Liberties would need to be forsaken to bring about his vision of utopia.  The free market system would need to be reined in, and done so in no small measure.   Obama would have four years, eight at most, to make this happen.  This transformation would need to be done quickly, and in a big way.

Enter Obamacare, America’s first stop on its train ride to Utopia. Against the wishes of 60-70 percent of Americans, and without the vetting of congressional legislators who rammed through the legislation, the United States Federal Government took control of a full one-seventh of the American economy, which had the net effect of driving up the cost of health care for all involved,  taking away freedom of choice, relegating freedom of conscience incompatible with the party line to irrelevancy, while at the same time having the no-doubt intended effect of casting a chilling pall on America’s ability to sustain economic growth and prosperity.  For those who wish to argue regarding this latter point, how better to right the wrongs of the perceived injustice of unequally-distributed wealth than to stifle the engine that creates such wealth?

As I’ve said, Obamacare is but stop one on America’s train ride to Obama’s Dystopia.  Obama’s seeming assault on everything traditional America has held dear for centuries appears to have taken on epidemic proportions.  Remember- Obama only has three and three-quarter years left.  Those who haven’t yet felt the pinch of his “transformations,” most likely have not yet realized that they, too, have been pinched.   Obama’s willing media accomplices can only cover for him for so long before a critical mass of Americans, admittedly as dull as many of them are, will start to put two-and-two together and finally determine that the hopey-changey unicorn jockey they voted for may actually have had something to do with the plight in which they suddenly find themselves.

Then what?

When the critical mass of Americans finally wake up one morning, to find that they have been played as chumps, they are liable to get a bit–shall we say, testy. When this inevitability finally does come home to roost, The TEA party protests that grew out of Rick Santelli’s historic February, 2009 rant will no doubt look like a series of school pep assemblies.   Such civil unrest would certainly be difficult to quell, and will no doubt be yet another bump in the tracks on the way to Obama’s Dystopian dream.

What to do, what do do? You can’t just sick the military after the troublemakers. Well, you could, I suppose, but then you risk pissing off your fellow travelers who have had a history of contempt for men and women in uniform.

What to do??

Since, at least philosophy- and policy-wise, one can take Obama at his word, one may get a clue as to Obama’s plans by again, studying his own non-TelePrompter inspired rhetoric:

“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set.  We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.”   -Barack Obama, July, 2008.

Yeah- remember that phrase?  Neither did a lot of other people.  Like the rest of Obama’s sordid past and rhetoric that if brought to the light of day would have rendered his election impossible, The media (true to their sycophantic nature) pretty much glossed over that little tidbit.  A powerful Civilian security force. Remind you of anyone?

So when you see articles like this, or like this, or like this, and then think, aww–Leo–take off that tinfoil hat!  You’re just blowing smoke.  That would never really happen here.  There’s no way.

Just remember.  I didn’t put those words into Barack Obama’s mouth.

He did.

    Most of the story has been written. This country has been heading toward this since February of 1913 For 100 years the opposition has decided to take comfort and security instead of freedom.

    The only part left to write is the ending. What are you willing to risk to insure that your children live free? Your sacred honor? Your liberty? Your life?

    Do you remember what is required to insure your liberty from time to time? All the blathering about what form of government is best is now useless. Low information voters are no longer the exception, they are the rule. Deal with it.

    It is almost time.

    Excellent article Leo. I do remember quite clearly all the alarming rhetoric from Obama, but was also one to just chalk it up to all talk, no walk, and really believed that the man child was inexperienced and completely over his head. I didn’t expect our media, or a large portion of it anyway, to lay cover for this moron like they have, nor did I expect them to literally become his own advance press team like they have, reminiscent of the North Korean News Agency which actually looks objective by comparison. I also didn’t expect Congress, and that includes RINO’s, to comply with his wishes in such a submissive and irresponsible way.

    I was, and am still shocked that he was reelected considering his abysmal performance on every level and GMB is right – the low information voter is now the majority as a result of our dumbed down educational system. You need to look no further than Casper, who is a teacher for crying out loud. Too many people now know much more about Kim Kardashian and Beyonce than they know about business, the economy, and the Constitution.

    What will happen? Who knows, but I for one am ready for the battle and certainly prepared to lay down my life. I do not want to live in a world full of Rusty’s, James’s and Obama’s.

    Well, I for one did not write it off, any more than I wrote off his response to Joe the Plumber. I knew he was talking from the heart, and furthermore that he was confident the had the backing to do what he wanted to do.

    I am still hopeful that we can regain control of the government, but know it can’t happen without a dramatic revision in the way we take our message to the people.

    Well done, Leo. I had an outline to do a post like this, but you did it better than I would have. There are only two courses available to us at this point: we’ll either turn the ship around before it hits the reef, or we’ll salvage a new republic from the ashes. I don’t see any other option. The one silver lining in all of this is that a good number of people who voted for this turd are going to undergo a great deal of economic pain, regardless of the path forward.

    Good work there Leo. The “Joe the Plumber” comment made me sit up and pay attention plus that kicked off a more through vetting of now President Obama on my part. I knew well ahead of his first election he was going to be a major “Progressive” but with re-election you can now see just how many of the little socailist utopians we already have embedded in government.

    Unfortunetly, I also have to agree with GMB because all one needs to do is a little research to see how “everything was soooo terrible” bordering on outright evil under GW Bush but everything is “soooo wonderful and recovering” now under Obama except for them dastarly Republicans who won’t comprimise with the lovable Democrats. Yes, everything is up: Unemployment with over 8 M jobs lost forever, Food Stamps, etc. The morons have taken over.

    Even Obama’s signature deal (HillaryCare on steriods) ObamaCare is already shorting those who were considered “uninsurable” because of lack of funds before it is implimented in full. It also was all “back of the bus” back-room deals with no input allowed from Republicans–even those of the RINO stripage.

    OPM will run out soon enough and programs will wither until failure. Printing more money (QE unlimited) will only lead to a Carter-like inflation at best and the rioting will start. First in the urban areas and speeding outwards. These will not be containable by anyone including Obama’s little brownshirts.

    In conclusion, and once again in agreement with GMB and Spook, I forsee a time within my lifetime when the American government of today will fail and rise once again with our original form of Constitutional governance based on my belief of many of us citizens will see that it is done (to ursurp some famous words) “…with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.”

    The decline of America both financially and politically in just the last ten years is astonishing and one that I would have never predicted. Ten years ago our national debt was just $5 trillion dollars, and as of today, we have more than tripled it. Ten years ago, we were a country unified in our resolve against evil, strengthened by our prosperity, and focused on emerging as a stronger more determined democracy. Today, we have political leaders that can only speak of America’s failures and unfairness and of whom use that to divide us. Leaders who don’t believe in American exceptionalism and encourage others to question America’s role. We have political leaders who don’t read legislation, don’t comply to their own laws, and fail to protect our interests abroad.

    The decline of America is noticeable and alarming for those who pay attention. Ten years ago I would have never dreamed that a second revolution would take place, but today, I have to think that it is a real possibility.

        My money is on the fat man from joisey. Although my political predictions have not been worth much lately, I am willing to go a case of GMB Bräu on it.

        I do not know who the next RINO the GOP will attempt to heave on our backs; however, I will bet against the fat man from Joisey being anything more than a passing mention. May make the first cut in the prelims but quickly discounted.

        If that is a fair bet–I will offer up a case of whatever American sold swill against yours and something better depending on how my grapes do early in the season. It would be nice to see Joisey fail and have some nice (real) brew to swig in his defeat.

        Barack Obama is a terrible president. That’s obvious to everyone who isn’t chronically ignorant or incurably liberal. By “liberal” I don’t mean the classic definition of the word which has to do with being open-minded and objective. I mean the modern version of liberal: self-centered, emotional, illogical, and void of reason. Unfortunately, in 2012 ignoramuses and liberals represented the majority of those who voted. I’m not worried about offending them with my harsh words. My very existence offends them, and so does yours if you don’t buy into their worldview.

    I think that it’s quite telling that there is not one liberal comment on this thread which is a scathing indictment on Obama using his own words. I guess they find it easier to personally attack their opponents rather than face the hard truths of the ideology they support and may, or may not be aware of.
